Carnival Nursing Jobs
Carnival Cruise Line is seeking qualified candidates to work as
nurses and nurse practitioners aboard their ships.
Ship’s Nurse
The Ship’s Nurse will tend to the nursing needs of the vessel’s
officers, crew and guests. This includes routine medical needs as
well as emergency medicine. Carnival seeks registered nurses
qualified in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand,
Ireland, South Africa, or European Union member country. Carnival
requires at least 3 years emergency or critical care nursing
experience and current BLS certification. Cruise ship nurse
candidates must be fluent in English and pass a medical
administration exam and be competent with intravenous
cannulation and venipuncture. Carnival uses a nursing skills
checklist that job applicants must pass as well as requiring basic
proficiency in computers.
Nurse Practitioner
The Ship’s Nurse Practitioner shares responsibility with the cruise
ship physician for the medical needs of the ship’s officers, crew and
guests. This includes basic medical needs as well as emergency
medicine. Carnival seeks registered nurses qualified in the United
States or Canada. Carnival requires nurse practitioner candidates
to hold three or more years critical care experience as a registered
nurse and a minimum of two years of nurse practitioner experience
in a family practice, internal medicine or general medicine. As is the
case with the cruise ship physician position, the nurse practitioner
must be competent in minor surgical and orthopedic procedures.
Carnival seeks candidates with a positive mental attitude who are
deemed fit for sea duty following a pre-employment physical exam.
